Overview:
Velocity Engineering Services is seeking a Business Development Specialist to lead
strategic growth initiatives and expand the company’s market presence. This role requires a
proactive professional who can identify and secure new project opportunities, cultivate
strong client relationships, and oversee the development of proposals and marketing
strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Development:
    ◦ Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
    ◦ Research potential clients and develop outreach strategies.
    ◦ Prepare and manage proposals for project opportunities, ensuring accuracy
    and timeliness.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    ◦ Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through regular
    communication and visits.
    ◦ Follow up on proposals and completed projects to gather feedback and
    identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strategic Networking:
    ◦ Evaluate and participate in industry networking events, trade shows, and
    association meetings.
  • Marketing & Branding:
    ◦ Manage social media updates and ensure consistent brand messaging.
    ◦ Maintain and update marketing materials, website, brochures, and trade
    show displays.
    ◦ Select and manage promotional items for events and client engagement.
  • Budget:
    ◦ Assist in developing the annual marketing budget and monitor expenses
    throughout the year.
  • Recruitment Support:
    ◦ Identify potential candidates for open positions and attend career fairs.
  • Internal Coordination:
    ◦ Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure client commitments are met.
    ◦ Provide feedback to improve processes and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business development, preferably in
    engineering, construction, or professional services.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, and social media platforms.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, networking events, and trade shows, with
    flexibility to attend after-hours functions as needed.
