STAFF ENGINEER – STRUCTURAL RESTORATION

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist lead engineers with proposal and report preparation, appendices, etc.
- Perform building forensic investigations
- Perform structural analysis of existing structures
- Manage repair and restoration projects from initial forensics through completion of construction
- Evaluate damage/deterioration of structures
- Prepare plans and specifications for bidding and permitting of repair and restoration projects
- Prepare permit close out documents
- Prepare technical and inspection reports
- Perform field observations during construction
- Work as a team and ask questions!
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Have experience in the repair and restoration of a building’s primary structural elements
- Proficient in technical oral and written communication
- Able to defend and support conclusions
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Have a high level of attention to detail
- Coordinate with and support other engineers when needed
- Communicate with clients in a timely manner and meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite
- Have experience with AutoCAD
- A valid driver’s license
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with forensic investigations or Milestone Inspections a plus
- Experience with structural design or analysis software a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural coursework
- E.I.T. Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel to various project sites
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
